For those swimmers unable to attend the minimum prerequisite sessions for their squad, from September 2023 we will be running a Development Squad. Sessions will take place at St George’s School, Ascot on:
To join, swimmers must be able to competently perform the following:
Swimmer to have correct kit
(purchased via the Frogs & Friends App)
Swimmer to attend training with good focus and effort
2 sessions per week available
The fees for Development Squad allow for two 45 minute session per week. However, it is expected that any swimmer enrolled into the Academy Bronze is also attending regular swimming lessons outside of the Academy. This could be either at school or by attending a learn to swim programme.
Typically, swimmers are aged between 7 and 10 years old.
Moving to the Academy Silver level is ultimately up to the coach’s discretion. However, a swimmer must:
Regularly attend sessions
Demonstrate an eagerness to learn by listening to the coach’s instructions
Perform strokes efficiently
Regularly attempt basic competitive turns
Follow basic instructions from a drill board
